Milan’s Teatro alla Scala is perhaps the most famous opera house in the world. Welcome to the opera house where George Handel's masterpieces live on. The Royal Opera House' current building is not the original. Since the beginning of the 18th century two other opera houses have stood in the theatre's present location at Covent Garden. Not only was Handel's work performed in this house from 1735 until his death but he also composed a great number of his operas and oratorios for this place.
