GlobeAir is to join Victor's carbon offset programme with Air BP

GlobeAir joins Victor's carbon offset programme

Discover the programme

Private Jet Operator, GlobeAir is becoming one of the forerunners in carbon emissions reduction, by participating in Victor’s Carbon Offset Programme, formed in collaboration with Air BP and BP Target Neutral. You can learn more about this initiative by visiting GlobeAir at EBACE 2018.

Charter a GlobeAir private jet flight, collect credits at no additional costs and save a forest all in one go! Though it might sound a bit far-fetched, this is the fundamental idea that lies behind the recently launched Carbon Offset Programme, which GlobeAir is proud to be one of the first to join. The Programme, which has been just launched by Victor after a trial year, is promoted by Air BP and BP Target Neutral, which has set aside a certain number of carbon credits for it. As part of the initiative and at no additional costs, passengers who charter a Private Jet with GlobeAir can collect carbon credits that will be donated to one of the different offset programs conceived by BP Target Neutral in adherence with The International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA). Offset programs such as these support forest protection, gas switching and the building of cookstoves, biodigesters or hydro powers in different continents of the world.

By accepting to join Victor’s Carbon Offset Programme, which has just been launched together with Air BP and BP Target Neutral, GlobeAir shows commitment towards meeting stringent upcoming deadlines regarding CO2 offsets.

According to recent discussions by CORSIA, the International Civil Aviation Organization’s global scheme for carbon offsetting and reduction, aircraft operators will be required to offset their carbon emissions which exceed the average baseline emissions of 2019 and 2020 at their own expense. This deliberation will be voluntary between 2021-2026 and become mandatory thereafter. By adhering to the Carbon Offset Programme launched by Victor, GlobeAir aimed at being on track and prepared to meet these critical environmental objectives.

How does the Victor's carbon offset programme work?

The programme explained

How does the Programme work? Operators who adhere to the initiative communicate with Air BP via Victor to reconcile carbon credits by proving flights and amount of consumed fuel.

  1. Air BP supplies Programme's participants based on a daily report delivered by Victor
  2. Air BP gets a weekly summary of flights flown to match with fuel sales
  3. Air BP calculates the actual amount of fuel consumed and reconcile carbon credits
