GlobeAir’s highlights 2019

GlobeAir's best of 2019

Looking back at the past year for a successful leap into 2020

With 2019 drawing to a close, we are happy to look back at the past year and highlight business aviation’s recent achievements. To pique your curiosity, we have crunched the numbers to give you some first-hand insight into GlobeAir’s operations in 2019.

1. Which were your favourite destinations?

The ever-lasting charm of France, Switzerland and England

2019 saw a significant focus on France, which – not surprisingly– reconfirms itself as the most beloved destination for our passengers. With Paris and Nice making first and second place respectively, France is still well the perfect mix of leisure and business travel can be found. Switzerland is the second most popular country with Geneva and Zurich securing their positions on the podium.

Following is London’s Biggin Hill airport confirming the crucial role that England plays in business aviation. In light of the recent political developments, we are confident that business aviation won’t be negatively affected by the now inevitable Brexit.

2. A proud and international team

How many nationalities does the #DreamTeam count?

2019 has seen us focus on people’s development here at GlobeAir. Over the course of the year, we have strengthened all departments counting 31 nationalities now among our ranks. Including both office and crew, we are proud of our company's melting pot culture and are aware of the added value that this brings to our customers.

To provide excellent services to our passengers, we are committed to developing our multilingual customer care team (with support now available in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Russian, Croatian) and our crew support team. All of this, together with a seamless IT infrastructure for secure and hassle-free online bookings.

3. Legs, hours, and passengers

GlobeAir in numbers

The busy season has translated for us into 8,915 performed legs, 14,536 hours flown and 11,542 passengers welcomed on board. With the world’s largest fleet of citation mustang jets, we are happy to help our passengers reach their preferred destinations both for business and leisure – reconfirmed as the number one reason for travel during the summer.

4. Our commitment for the environment

Introducing #WeArePlanetA 2020

According to the European business aviation association (EBAA), business aviation's carbon emissions are approximately 2% of all aviation and just 0.04% of global man-made emissions. GlobeAir is committed to helping reduce BizAv's CO2 emissions introducing a Carbon Offset Program which will be available to all passengers starting from 2020.

Next yeart will see us kickstart a long-term CSR project which will be developed closely with our partner carbon connect AG. Together with suitable carbon compensation options available for our private jet passengers, we will be gathering an internal CSR committee. The latter will be busy spreading an environment-friendly corporate culture along GlobeAir's business areas. Watch this space for more news and detailed information available for you next January.

5. 338 airports and counting

Discover all business aviation's destinations

2019 was very busy for business aviation. During the past year, we have flown to a total of 338 airports, including those that airlines can’t access. At the top of our list of hard-to-reach airports’ list, Bolzano, Samedan, Sion and Le Castellet reconfirm their popularity.

338 airports in Europe mean a great variety of departure and arrival locations. Given our extended airports’ availability counting 984 accessible airports, however, we expect to add even more to the list in the next year. Ask us to organise your full journey from your current location to your preferred destinations and we will pick you up from the closest available airport.

6. Pilots on the move thanks to our crew support team

Discover GlobeAir's travel agency

Business aviation pilots work demanding hours with possible short-notice changes to their roasters. Due to the industry’s dynamism, GlobeAir’s pilots are always on the move. To meet their next customers, crew members need to reposition to their next destination, and that’s where our crew support team comes into action.

2019 saw us booking a total of 8,840 hotel nights, 2,452 airliners, 1380 train tickets and 520 rental cars for our crew. Always on the lookout for the best alternatives for our pilots to reach their next airports, our skilled DreamTeam members work hard to make efficient and environmentally-friendly choices for them.
