Charter a private jet to Beaujolais Nouveau day

Discover all about Beaujolais Nouveau

A tradition which is better experienced first-hand

Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé! Or better: the 2019 edition of the young Beaujolais Nouveau is on its way, and it will be announced, as tradition has it, on the third Thursday of November. On November 21st at exactly 12:01 a.m., the wine will be released under French law and fireworks will mark the beginning of another wine season. Dating back to 1985, the Beaujolais Nouveau Day wants to celebrate the end of the harvest and pay tribute to one of the most well-known French red wines. As a prelude to this most-awaited day, France holds a series of festivals up until the release date, when celebrations peak at the highest levels. For all lovers of wine and traditions, GlobeAir arranges private jet charters to France and can fly you to some of the most exclusive wine-bashes around the Beaujolais region and beyond.

What's special about the Beaujolais Nouveau?

The wine that can accompany anything from haute cuisine to pizza

Originated in the Beaujolais region, the Beaujolais Nouveau is made from Gamay grapes, and it has been initially brought to fame by wine-producer Mr Georges Dubeouf. The region stretches for 34 miles from north to south and is almost 9 miles wide. Home to circa four thousand vineyards, this is where twelve officially-designated types of Beaujolais are produced, together with the vintages Fleurie and Cote de Brouilly- some of the most expensive grand crus of all.

A type of wine that can accompany anything from haute cuisine to pizza, the Beaujolais Nouveau is a quickly-fermented wine which appeals to almost everybody.

Zesty and fruity sometimes at the points of evoking a certain “goûte de banana”, banana taste, it is mostly consumed in France and exported to Germany, Japan and the United States of America- with figures that rise yearly according to the latest reports from BusinessFrance*.

While wines are shipped around the world a few days before its release day, it’s only at 12.01 a.m. of the third of November that artisans are allowed to unlock the wine from the warehouses. Although it is typical of the Beaujolais region, many cities in France celebrate the release of the new wine with tourists and visitors flocking to the country just to join enogastronomic events and celebrations.
