About this Edition of the Festival

Join us for the ninth Swiss Alps Classics, 5–6 July 2025 in Andermatt, where the world’s finest classical talent meets the breathtaking Alpine setting.

Filarmonica della Scala

This year’s guest orchestra is the celebrated Filarmonica della Scala—founded in 1982 by Claudio Abbado and La Scala musicians, with over 800 concerts worldwide. “We have been working for three years to bring this top ensemble to Andermatt,” says festival director Peter-Michael Reichel. Their season-finale concert, conducted by violinist Julian Rachlin (Music Director, Jerusalem Symphony; Chief Conductor, Kristiansand Symphony), features Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64, Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture, Op. 62, and Symphony No. 7, Op. 92, on Sunday 6 July at 17:00 in the Andermatt Concert Hall.

Rising Stars of the Lang Lang Foundation

On Saturday 5 July, two pianists from the Lang Lang International Music Foundation take the stage:

  • Aidan Siqi Zhao (13), King’s College School, London—Solihull Musician of the Year and junior Royal College of Music violin student.
  • Deva Mira Sperandio (17), Yehudi Menuhin School scholar—made her solo debut at 10 and has since performed with the Málaga Symphony and Orquesta Caixa Ontinyent.

All concerts are presented in cooperation with Andermatt Music.

A Showcase of Musical Genius:

  • Julian Rachlin: Julian Rachlin, an internationally acclaimed violinist and conductor, is the Music Director of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and Chief Conductor of the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra. With over 30 years of stage experience, he is regarded as one of the most versatile musicians of our time.
  • Filarmonica della Scala: The Filarmonica della Scala was founded in 1982 by Claudio Abbado together with musicians from Milan’s La Scala. It has collaborated with outstanding conductors such as Leonard Bernstein, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Chailly, Lorin Maazel, and many others, and has performed over 800 concerts on international stages – including debuts in the United States and China.
  • Aidan Siqi Zhao: Aidan Siqi Zhao from London studies piano with Professor Ian Jones and violin at the Royal College of Music. He was named “Solihull Musician of the Year” at the final of the Solihull Musical Festival – the youngest winner in the competition’s history.
  • Deva Mira Sperandio: Deva Mira Sperandio began playing the piano at the age of 5, completed her studies at the Conservatorio J.M. Gomis in Spain in 2023, and is currently studying on a scholarship at the Yehudi Menuhin School in London. She gave her song recital debut at the age of 10 and, at 14, performed with the Malaga String Orchestra and the Orquesta Caixa Ontinyent.

*Starting from €11,000. Final pricing will vary depending on your departure airport and routing.

**Hotel selection is based on availability and personal preference.
