F1 confirms first appointments of 2020 calendar including start in Austria

F1 confirms that the first race in 2020 will be held in Austria

The Austrian GP will kick-start the F1 season on July 5th

After the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed the start of the Formula 1 2020 season, there is a lot of excitement and drive to finally inaugurate the beginning of the races. With safety for drivers and fans as the most important factor driving the organisation of the season this year, F1 CEO Chase Carey reported that he ought to start off with the Austrian GP in Spielberg. Today, the rumour has been confirmed, with F1 motorsport Ross Brawn explaining why it makes sense to start at the Red Bull ring. The F1 Grand Prix season will begin on July 5th with no fans.

As a leading private jet company headquartered in Linz (AT) and as Alfa Romeo Racing Orlen's official travel partners we are proud to see Austria at the centre of the F1 season's start this year.

Ross Brawn's official comments

For as much as the whole F1 team can't wait to satisfy the fans' excitement, the F1 management has confirmed that it will only open up the races when it will be entirely safe again. The Red Bull ring, located in close proximity to Zeltweg Air Base, makes a perfect location to kickstart the season with easy logistics and a great infrastructure.
