The Techno-Classica is the largest Oldtimer event in the world, attracting up to 200.000 attendees and more than 1 250 exhibitors. Since 1989, it has taken place every year in the spring at the Essen Trade Show. The Techno-Classica provides a broad forum for the history of motorized cars, motorcycles, and utilitarian vehicles, as well as for their maintenance and use in sports. The core of this are the locations of the major European manufacturers, who frequently exhibit the collections of their corporate museums here. This is supplemented by other mark-related organizations and interest groups that represent smaller or lost brands. More than 2500 vehicles from throughout the world were offered for sale in 2014 by auction houses, classic dealers, and private individuals. Additionally, manufacturers of spare parts, tools, maintenance supplies, and restaurant businesses are also there. Also available at Techno-Classica are items related to Oldtimer, such as model cars, books, and vintage emaille posters. Additionally, the Techno-Classica provides a large presentation venue for numerous Oldtimer clubs, interest groups, and organizers. R ace cars and racing motorcycles from various eras are on display in segregated exhibition areas. Additionally, special events are held every year, such as the 2014 presentation of cars designed by the Italian design studio Zagato. In all, 120.000 square meters of exhibition space will be occupied, which will be distributed among 10 halls and 4 open spaces.
