Florence, Italy

With a resonant history, Florence stands amid Tuscan region readily representing its best samples of the area. Set out for Tuscan wines and traditional dishes, we have a few recommendations.

Wine, Dine:

A romantic weekend in Florence and Bologna a signature experience, chef Fabio Picchi’s creation Cibreo is a must.  With 4 locations in the city: the Trattoria, il Ristorante, the Caffé, and the picturesque “Teatro del Sale”, Cibreo is the ideal place for an unconventional dinner. Its fervent atmosphere is catching, at ‘’Teatro del Sale’ if you manage to book a table ask to be seated next to the stage to attend the show, or even enjoy some poetry readings.

For the real ‘fiorentina’, take time to eat at "Antico Ristoro di Cambi". An institution in Florence, this trattoria is a perfect match for sharing a glass of red wine (Chianti, Montepulciano or Brunello di Montalcino).

The Arts:

Plan an afternoon to walk amongst timeless pieces in the ´Uffizi gallery´, and later, visit the Duomo di Firenze. Climbing its cupola will reward you with a marvellous view over the city, nevertheless counting the steps is not recommended.

Bologna, Italy

Over the centuries, Bologna has earned a reputation for its culinary tradition. In fact, this city gave its name to the well-known Bolognese sauce.

Its gastronomic fame dates to the Middle Ages, when students and professors from all over the world needed an enrichment of food culture. Besides the famous tortellini, hand-made and served in broth, pasta and pork meat are the main characters in scene.

Wine, Dine:

To delve into this tradition, visit the “Mercato di Mezzo” located in the historical centre, it offers a delightful glimpse of these specialties.

Via Drapperie and via Pescherie Vecchie hold must-visit food stores such as Eataly, Tamburini, and Simoni; perfect if you wish to buy some local products.

We advise:

Dine in the most exclusive restaurant in town? Try "I Carracci", set in the magnificent Grand Hotel Majestic, a luxury hotel with an extraordinary artistic heritage.
