St.Moritz, Switzerland

St.Moritz’s allure is founded on decades of earned reputation for expertly managed slopes and an abundance of activities.

If landing in the sleek mustang at Engadin Airport does not already satisfy a stylish entrance, you can arrange to parachute from the airport with Engdinsky, landing on ice at lake St-Moritz.  This same lake offers the stage for skating, for winter horse races, even cricket tournaments, and in January from the 27th to the 29th, for the world-renowned Snow Polo World Cup.

Atop Corviglia, also named Piz Nair, there follows 100 kilometres of slopes. You can bobsleigh on the world’s single natural-ice track, the Olympia Bob Run. And if you like to get creative, the ‘’Corvatsch Park’’ is one of the largest snow parks in Europe. When ready to recharge, the après-ski scene and relaxing retreats are of the highest.

Event of the season: FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2017

This year’s much anticipated bi-annual event, is being hosted by St-Moritz for the 5th time. Proudly returning there after 1934, 1948, 1974, and 2003: FIS 2017 will bring with it the usual outstanding athletes and skiing enthusiasts to be welcomed in St.Moritz by well-planned social and cultural highpoints.
After taking in the taunting excitement of planned events, the ski runs remain open to test your own skills, some running even at night.

Chambery, France

One hour and a half’s drive from both Val d’Isère and Courchevel; Chambery Savoie airport is adjacent to some of France’s best resorts. With paramount excellence and French tradition at their core, these two resorts offer diverse and worthy experiences.

Courchevel is singular as it is home to the ‘Three Valleys’ ski area which spans 3 paralleled valleys connected and is recognised as the largest interconnected ski area in the world. Offering thrillingly varied surface and 150 kilometres of alpine ski runs, it comprises of over 5 altitudes with 5 villages to accommodate. From Courchevel airport, with its impressively short undulated runway, you can take to the skies to parachute, take helicopter/small aircraft scenic rides, or even paraglide. 

Val d ‘Isère is a tremendous ski resort, its village sitting at 1,850m, while its highest runs tower at just over 3,400m. With its active après ski scenes, and its reliefs give some of the most exciting and variated skiing and snowboarding opportunities in the Alps. If you are looking for a challenge there is speedriding the budding winter sport to take on, combining paragliding and skiing/snowboarding.

Not to be missed: While the first snow criterium trials of the men’s and women’s world alpine ski cup is now at Val d’Isère and runs until December 17th, Courchevel will host this year’s FIS Ladies Alpine Ski World Cup 2016 for the weekend of the December 20th.
