Coachella, also known as the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, is a music festival that takes place in Indio, California's Coachella Valley. It has been taking place every year since 1999 and is one of the biggest festivals on the planet. Since 2012, the same artists have repeated the entire three-day program the following week. Installations and sculptures are displayed in addition to performances by Alternative-Rock, Hip-Hop, and Electronica artists. In 2007, the festival took place on five main stages and a number of smaller ones. The hippie-inspired attire is typically associated with festivals. 2015 saw the debut of a dedicated fashion line from the clothing retailer H&M. The organizers place a high value on sustainability and recycling. There are several ko-initiatives, such as Mülleimer with intricate designs created by artists.
